The Sculpture symbolizes the journey of the Ego and of Spirit in our life.
The black inner core strand (Spirit) stems from within ourselves and thus symbolizes our true self, our inner core. Read more >>

Direct, Authentic and Real About What It Takes -

‘How I Became Me Again’ will not shy away from what a reader might deem uncomfortable or direct conversations. I will talk about times I found myself crying, which is probably the greatest taboo for a man. But my job is also to show them that the dark feelings won’t permanently damage them - and in fact are a sign that they’re already on the pathway to a better life.

Visual Cues and Multi-dimensional Learning Format -

Most non-fiction self help and spiritual books are long on content and short on illustrations.  From my training I know that people learn through a multitude of methods and senses.  This book will have lots of graphics, exercises and illustrations to help people see visually what I am communicating to them, connecting to a different area of the brain and expanding the readers’ potential to absorb the information.

Excerpts from 'How I Became Me Again', The journey back to self by Robbert-Jan Nuis

On the market there are books for people into “spirituality” and there are books for self-help, but there is no holistic book that presents a methodology for reaching a spiritual state that is written in the language an Ego-mind can understand and accept.  People who experience the feeling “something is missing” but don’t feel ready or convinced or even aware that they are on a spiritual quest need a grounded, holistic, rational approach to change.  My book, How I Became Me Again, is that bridge between Ego-mind and the inner “Me” – that elusive desired state of peace, happiness and fulfillment that only comes when one is at harmony with their Spirit.

There is one part of us, a rational and logical side, who controls our world view and our experience, relentlessly pushing us to react to life the same way over and over and creating the same circumstances over and over.  We trust this logic as if it were the “truth” without being able to see where our “truth” stops us from getting what we want or being happy.

The Ego is destined to create the same problems over and over because the Ego only knows one kind of logic, created out of the experiences of growing up.  Because Egos’ primary goal is survival it is focused on using the method that has worked best.  We don’t know that we don’t know what we really want or that our choices are being influenced by something below the surface that we can’t see.  The process outlined in How I Became Me Again allows these influences to come from the deeper level and into the conscious mind.

Bridging to Spirituality – An Elementary Textbook on the Process of Awakening ‘How I Became Me Again’ is a concise synthesis of a large swath of content currently on the market in various forms and perspectives.

No matter who you are: how much money you make, what culture you come from or where you live in the world, we encounter the same challenges and issues in life.  All of our individual challenges may be different on the surface, but inside we all face a similar struggle.

The loud, pushy side is the consciousness we deal with everyday, our Ego.  While Ego serves a useful purpose in life, we’ve let the rationale of the Ego dominate our decisions.  As a coach and therapist I see over and over clients in my office who express frustration that they seem to experience the same problems over and over.

Finally!  A Map! - Discussing spirituality principles in general can leave people feeling hopeful but unsure of how to apply it in their lives.  The map will show the reader that even though they may be in a fog, they can still move forward and find their way out.

How I Became Me Again is a manual to an efficient way to move from one state to the other.  Using tested tools and techniques as well as penetrating insight in the overall journey of life readers will learn how to avoid making the same mistakes and become happier in the process.

Spirit is the “Me” of the book’s title.  Spirit is always calling us, and as we progress in life, its message gets louder and louder.  In most of us, Spirit resides as the subconscious self, emerging now and again but we often lack the confidence to follow its guidance in all areas of our life.
